Voter Suppression in Texas: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

August 6, 2021 By SD17Dems

What’s in the Texas Voter Suppression Bills? The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1 of 12)

Texas House Democrats broke quorum on July 12 and set up camp in D.C. to avoid letting state Republicans pass voting repression bills without a fight and to bring attention and action to voting rights nationwide and at the federal level. They’ll return to Texas this weekend. Time will quickly tell if they’ve accomplished their goals. Who knows if they’ll be arrested, but I’m sure Abbott intends to call another emergency session to get the bills passed ASAP. We need Congress and Pres. Biden to help ASAP.

I think very few people realize how shocking these bills really are. So I’m going to post a summary of the main provisions: the good, the bad, and the ugly. They don’t include every provision or every detail, and they aren’t organized as in the bills. But you’ll get the idea.
